The Hesse Chicken Ranch!
well....okay....so it's our backyard....
....that just makes it a really small ranch!
We raise Bantams (Bantees) which are about 1/3 the
size of regular chickens. While we don't raise them to eat, we do
enjoy eating their tiny eggs. They are our pets more than anything
and provide us a good deal of entertainment.. They have quite a variety
of colors and feather patterns and are quite comedic in their personality.
Take a look below to find out more!!

This is the "main man" of the ranch at this time. (born

Misc. Pics!

"Kicking Bird" R.I.P. (05/24/09)
This was a Polish chicken, or also called a Crested Dutch chicken
or a Top-Knot.
He was about two months old here. We think he managed to fly over
the fence
before we clipped his wings. I loved that bird and will miss him.

Canary and Bunny watching over their chicks,
the first four born on the ranch (aka "The Fab Four")
Here they are about 1-2 weeks old. (spring '08)
Below are some pics of inside of "the coop!"
